What this site collects
Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type into. CT Solar Plug has no accounts, no login, no newsletter, no contact form and no comments. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no advertising, and has no analytics or tracking scripts on its pages.
What happens anyway
- Server logs.The web server that delivers these pages keeps ordinary access logs — the requested URL, the time, the browser's user-agent string and the IP address the request came from. That is how a web server works, and how we would notice it being attacked. We do not use those logs to build a profile of anybody.
- Images from Amazon.Where a page shows a product image, the image is served directly from Amazon's content network rather than copied here. Loading it is a request your browser makes to Amazon, and Amazon can see that request.
- Clicking a product link.An outbound link to Amazon carries an Associates tracking identifier for this domain, which tells Amazon the visit came from here. From that point on you are on Amazon's site and Amazon's privacy policy applies. See our affiliate disclosure.
If you live in Connecticut
Connecticut residents have rights over their personal data under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, which the Office of the Attorney General enforces and explains at the link below. Those rights concern personal data that a business has collected. In our case there is essentially nothing to request: this site has no accounts, no sign-up, no contact form, no advertising and no analytics, and it sets no cookies of its own.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics, this page gets updated in the same change that adds them, and the change log records it. A privacy page that describes a site as it was a year ago is worse than none.
